Agnitron Successfully Upgraded Emcore D180 PLC

Agnitron supplied Imperium-MOCVD™ Control Software and a Beckhoff Automation programmable logic controller (PLC) upgrade to a large laser manufacturer on the east coast of the US. The original Epiview software and CTC 2700 PLC could not provide an adequate accuracy of switching layers needed for the material that was grown in the reactor. By upgrading the PLC and the control software, the customer was able achieve the goal of very precise and quick layer switching capability. In addition, it enabled use of both DeviceNet and analog device communication protocols.  The upgrade allowed the execution of recipes directly from PLC which improved switching time to be no longer than 3ms.

The Imperium platform is a Windows 10 based package and is used for controlling MOCVD and other semiconductor process equipment.
